Peta Wilson
CHIEF CREATIVE OFFICER & PRODUCER
Peta was born and raised in Sydney and spent time in Papua New Guinea as a child.
She has worked as model in Australia, Europe and Los Angeles. In LA, Peta studied acting with Arthur Mendoza at the Actors Circle, and with Tom Waits at the TomKat Repertory Group.
Peta first appeared in small roles in the indie films such as Naked Jane and Loser.
Peta then auditioned for a new television show being produced for the USA cable TV channel in North America. Over 200 actresses auditioned for the starring role, and Wilson was chosen. The show was La Femme Nikita, based on the French action thriller movie La Femme Nikita.
La Femme Nikita, an hour-long series, was a Canadian/US co-production. It ran for five years and comprised 96 episodes. Peta was twice nominated for the annual Gemini Award for "Best Performance by An Actress in a Continuing Leading Dramatic Role".
She portrayed real-life actress Anny Ondra in the television movie Joe and Max.
She also appeared as the vampire Mina Harker in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
Other roles have included in the Australian TV mystery anthology drama Two Twisted, Superman Returns, the Australian independent film Beautiful, and guest starring on CSI:Miami and The Finder.
In 2013, Wilson received the Best Actress Award at the Cinerockom International Film Festival for her performance as CIA agent Marla Criswell in the short film Liberator.
In 2012, she launched a lingerie label, Wylie Wilson, with a flagship store in Los Angeles.
It is Peta’s energy, enthusiasm, and love of the film and tv industry that is a huge part of the drive of the Film Fund, and her ability to connect this vision with the artistic and creative community that she is deeply rooted in that will make it possible.
